Mark Gunderman

Mark Gunderman, Chairman

Mark was elected to the Board of Directors for the Donald Wescott Fire Protection District in May 2018.  He served as the Board Secretary for two years before becoming Board President in May 2020.  During his time on the Board Mark has helped to adopt new bylaws, pushed for an updated strategic plan and a more proactive social media presence to ensure transparency.  Mark feels strongly that the Board has a responsibility to make sure our tax dollars are spent wisely, and that our firefighters have the training, equipment and support needed to serve our community.

Mark worked as a Level I reserve deputy sheriff in CA for 15 years before moving to Colorado with his family in 2009.  During this time he gained firsthand experience as a first responder and witnessed the power of a collaborative relationship between first responders and the community they serve.   Mark also served as an instructor at the police academy specializing in Use of Force and Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC).

Mark graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations.  Since 1994 he has worked for AAA Insurance where he is currently a Senior Manager in the Claim Department.  Mark and his wife, Jennifer, have been married since 2000 and live in the Gleneagle area with their twin boys.

Term Expires: 2022
