Patient Privacy

While providing quality and timely service, Wescott Fire Protection District (WFPD) wants to insure our patients health care information is protected, referred to as Protected Health Information (PHI). Required by law, effective April 14, 2003 the WFPD is required to provide you with a notice of our legal duties and privacy practices with respect to your PHI.

The WFPD falls under the medical authority of Centura Health and works jointly with American Medical Response. Together our response services must protect the confidentiality of PHI gathered at emergency incidents from our patients.

This Notice describes your legal rights, advises you of our privacy practices, and lets you know how the WFPD, AMR and Centura Health are permitted to use and disclose PHI about you. The WFPD is also required to abide by the terms of the version of this Notice currently in effect. We may use this information after we obtain your consent, and in emergency and other situations without your immediate consent.

For information about your rights and the obligations regarding medical information, please see the Notice of Privacy Practices provided by Penrose St. Francis, and Notice of Privacy Practices provided by American Medical Response.
